QUANTIFY
As is common understanding, "you can't manage what you don't measure"!
Therefore, the calculation of the Organization's Carbon Footprint will have to be the starting point.
This information will allow for a solid understanding of the volume of your Organization's GHG emissions.
In measuring GHG emissions, we follow the “GHG Protocol” (developed in partnership between the World Resource Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), and used by 86% of the 500 companies in the Fortune 500 magazine ".
The "GHG Protocol" establishes a global standard methodology for measuring and managing private and public sector GHGs. The calculation of GHG emissions, according to the "GHG Protocol", is organized into several "Scopes" (Scopes):
• Scope 1 - direct emissions from sources owned by the reporting entity or controlled by it.
• Scope 2 - indirect emissions that result from the generation of purchased and consumed electricity in the facilities of the reporting entity, or in facilities controlled by it.
• Scope 3 - are a wide range of indirect emissions that diffuse along the entire value chain, including raw materials, logistics, business travel, employee commuting and many others.
With our help and advice, you can gain a detailed understanding of your Organization's impact on global warming:
obtaining a Carbon Footprint report produced by an external entity, which allows you to:
define a strategy to reduce the Organization / Company's Carbon Footprint.
offset the unavoidable emissions, making it a "Climate Neutral" Organization / Company.
disclose your Organization's Carbon Footprint to all its stakeholders (shareholders, customers, employees, suppliers and the rest of the value chain),
In summary, calculate your Organization's Carbon Footprint, categorize emissions (so you have a clear vision of where you can act), and decide which actions to take that best reconcile COST REDUCTION and EMISSION REDUCTION CO2.
